We fought the 30mph winds all the way to Wick and completed the 21 miles in 6 hours.
Brief glimpses of spinning wind turbines and the vast expanse of the North Sea dotted with the ubiquitous oilrigs. The birds had given up flying and the cattle were lying down.
We were stopped several times by drivers, motorbikers and pedestrians who gave us donations and many of whom had remembered the Countryfile and Radio 2 coverage – very heartwarming.
Now preparing for the final push to JOG – a little bit surreal.
